Stories stories stories...They varied in style from documentary, self-reflective, interpretive to complete fiction. It was a great mix of artists and a warm reception. Thanks to all that joined us! The show will be up through the end of January. Viewings are available by appointment via email at least 1 day in advance: adi(dot)baltazar(at)gmail.com. I'm generally available on weeknights and weekend afternoons.

Call for Work- Spring 2011 show
I have been meaning to put together a show featuring fiber and/or craftsmanship in contemporary art for some time now, but needed a strong theme to unify & inspire participants.
Title: In stitches
Theme: The general idea of the show is inspired by the saying, "Laugh now, Cry Later!", often seen as tattoos associated with gang culture and prison life. In stitches, is a play on words, meaning one could be in stitches from laughter or versely, 'in stitches' from trauma or pain.
You are encouraged to interpret the theme, choosing to reflect on all or only one aspect in one or a series of pieces. Looking for embroidery, sewing, sculpture, knit, crochet, video, photography, installation, wood work, prints, new media, paper arts, etc.
All media will be considered but initial preference is given to fiber arts or handmade constructions. Freshly made & recent work is sought but willing to consider work that is 1-2yrs old.
We'd like to have the show in April or May, 2011. Once selected, participants will agree to an exact exhibition date and details. To submit work or idea proposals email Adi.baltazar(at)gmail(dot)com by 2/7/2011. Please include any drawings or pics of work as pdfs or jpgs.

Cheers! Happy New Year!
It's almost time! The show we have been planning since October has finally reared it's head. We are very excited and super eager to see everyone's awesome work.
Inquiry into artifacts and photography as a medium to represent facts or to construct them frame the theme of this exhibit. Pulling from various interests and backgrounds, each artist will present a freshly made narrative.
I love me some stories.
Show will run through the end of January. After 1/14 viewings will be made by appointment. Please email Adriana: Adi.baltazar(at)gmail(dot)com to schedule.
Here's a peek at some of the work..
